"The State of The State" - April 23, 2024

Members, guests and endorsed candidates attended “The State of The State” featuring Texas Senator Lois Kolkhorst, District 18. Senator Kolkhorst gave a comprehensive update on the last legislative session and its impact on Fort Bend County, as well as a preview of the upcoming issues for the next session. Of note, Senator Kolkhorst discussed the bills affecting business owners and their impact for the future.

FBBC endorsed candidates for the May 4, 2024 election in attendance were for Fort Bend ISD Kristin Tassin and Rizvan Quadri; for Sugar Land City Council Suzanne Whatley; for Katy ISD Dawn Champagne and Rebecca Fox; for City of Fulshear Mayor Don McCoy and for City of Rosenberg Mayor William Benton.

"The Primary Puzzle: Putting the Pieces Together for Fort Bend Business" - February 28, 2024

Members and guests of the Fort Bend Business Coalition attended “The Primary Puzzle: Putting the Pieces Together for Fort Bend Business” to meet endorsed candidates in the March Primary Election and hear from consultant Kevin Shuvalov about how the upcoming 2024 elections will affect Fort Bend business.

"A Bi-Partisan Look at Fort Bend" – October 24, 2023

The Fort Bend Business Coalition hosted “A Bi-Partisan Look at Fort Bend” featuring Fort Bend Commissioners Vincent Morales and Grady Prestage moderated by former Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert. The Commissioners shared information on a variety of topics including the upcoming bond election, the new Epicenter and the Gus George Academy.

Legisltive Panel Event – August 29, 2023

The Fort Bend Business Coalition was pleased to host four Fort Bend Representatives at their Legislative Panel event in August.  Nearly 90 business owners and community leaders attended the panel discussion featuring Tori Macfarlan, Chief of Staff for State Representative Jacey Jetton, and State Representatives Gary GatesDr. Suleman Lalani, M.D. and Stan Kitzman.  FBBC Steering Committee Marvin Marcell moderated the discussion, which covered highlights of the 88th Texas Legislative session, issues affecting Fort Bend Business, keeping the border safe and lower property taxes.
