What We Do

The Fort Bend Business Coalition (FBBC) endorses elected officials and candidates that share our Guiding Principles. The purpose of the endorsement is to elect candidates or keep those elected officials in office that will protect and improve the business climate desired by businesses represented by our members.

Fort Bend Business Coalition (FBBC) filed a General Purpose Political Action Committee application with the Texas  Ethics Commission in July of 2020. The purpose of FBBC is to encourage and promote public policy, elected officials and candidates for elected office that support our Guiding Principles which contribute to a healthy business climate in Fort Bend County. FBBC hosts public forums and promotes awareness of how elected officials and candidates can learn more about the businesses represented by our members.

Membership in the Coalition is by invitation only and the prospective member must be sponsored by a Trustee Member. Elected officials and their spouses are not eligible for membership. There are two levels of membership: Trustee and General. Both levels of membership allow for attendance at meetings and participation on committees. Trustee Members vote on the membership of the Steering Committee.

The FBBC only endorses elected officials and candidates that share the Coalition’s Guiding Principles. The FBBC has a formal process for endorsement of elected officials and candidates. To receive an endorsement from the FBBC, the candidate or elected official must receive a two thirds favorable vote from the Trustee Membership.
